Emmanuel at Home Morning Prayer: The Portable Service to Use Anywhere

Emmanuel at Home Morning Prayer is a portable and complete digital liturgy available 24/7. Scroll down to learn more and click on the latest or prior week’s services!

The Rt. Reverend Susan Goff, Bishop of Virginia, in response to the spread of Covid-19, has temporarily halted public worship. But worship can happen wherever you are.

With the gift of technology, here is “Emmanuel at Home Morning Prayer Archive” inclusive of all services: March 15, 2020 to the present. This is an easy way to join in or revisit the music, prayers and homily from any particular Sunday.

“Emmanuel at Home” follows the ancient practice of Jewish and monastic tradition, which the Episcopal Church has long observed, of daily prayer. The service can be led by anyone and can be celebrated anywhere. It is particularly suited to those Sundays, when as a congregation we are unable to gather. So gather at your holy table be it in kitchen, dining room, or in your backyard to pray and sing God’s praises – wherever you are!

This liturgy also includes blessings from the The Book of Occasional Services over your food and drink, Sunday morning breakfast or evening meal. Though we are unable to celebrate the Holy Eucharist together, we are still in communion with Christ and one another.

In addition, each service includes links to:

  • Scripture, lectionary readings of the day
  • Hymns with lyrics
  • A homily and children’s homily, Video (new), audio & text
  • Offertory, with link to e-giving, for the financial support of Emmanuel’s ministry to the parish and community

The archive is updated each week. Please, feel free to share.
